Areas to
Serve
There's a
level of life, a level of humanity that comes when you serve others,
that those who are just "listeners" never experience. We are training up
Leaders here at The Worship Center, and leaders want to serve. There are
LOTS of opportunities to volunteer here, so you can begin investing in
the lives of others.
USHERS AND
GREETERS
One of the more fun ministries here is the ministry of Usher
and Greeter. This Small Group Ministry is under the direction of
Nathan Jones. Ushers and Greeters are essentially "people
persons." They clearly like people, and count strangers as simply
"friends we haven't met yet." The Usher and Greeter is also a
person of commitment, arriving at least 15-minutes before his or her
assigned service, well dressed and fresh in appearance (and breath!) The
Usher and Greeter stands at the Foyer and makes certain that
people get their bulletins, a friendly greeting and a handshake.
Visitors are a special ministry and joy to the Usher and
Greeter. The Visitor gets his or her first impression of people of
The Worship Center from the Ushers and Greeters, as well as the
last impression as the Usher and Greeter see them off, at the end of the
service. The Ushers and Greeters make certain the visitors are
not only able to find convenient seating, but will also assist visitors
to finding the various facilities they need while in service, such as
bathrooms, nursery, cry room, etc.
If you feel you would like to
be an Usher or Greeter call the church office at (301) 375-8655
or (301) 375-8656.
AUDIOTAPE
MINISTRY

Our audiocassette
ministry is a very strategic part of what the Lord has called us to do,
providing quality preaching and teaching to not only visitors and
members, but to our website visitors, and people at outside events where
our Pastors and other groups minister. Volunteers in the Audiotape
Ministry, depending on their skill level will help duplicate, label,
pack and distribute audiocassette programs. Another aspect of the
Audiotape Ministry is staffing the Audiotape table at The
Worship Center, and keeping it stocked with current tapes and
series. This is a very rewarding ministry opportunity, with both hands
on and interpersonal skills being used. To be a volunteer in the
Audiotape Ministry, contact Dr. Steve or Linda.
BUILDING AND
MAINTENANCE
You're one of our heroes if you have building
maintenance and repair skills! There are always maintenance and upgrade
tasks that need performing. This is the perfect ministry opportunity for
the skilled individual with bits of available time or a retiree. Skills
may include carpentry, electrical, plumbing and supervisory for general
church Work Days. Building and Maintenance volunteers interact
with the Building Ministry that meets monthly.
TYPISTS, AUDIOTYPISTS and EDITORS

Do you enjoy typing from audiotapes? Do you have writing
and/or editing skills? You'll find great fulfillment volunteering with
our publishing and E-book arm of ministry. We're publishing several
E-books at any given time and have boatloads of great ministry
opportunity for you! Contact Dr. Steve.
WEBSITE
DEVELOPMENT PERSONNEL
If you think the Bible should've been written in HTML instead
of Hebrew, you can put your skills to work in the Internet portion of
our outreach. We are developing and upgrading our websites on a regular
basis. The few hours per month that you volunteer will make a genuine
difference in peoples' lives! Contact us at 301-375-8655 or 301-375-8656.
