Getting right with Jesus

No matter how young or old you are, no matter how rich or poor you are, no matter what color you are, life is tough and filled with disappointments. You can try to please the people around you, do the things they do and go after the things they go after and still feel lost and alone.

That was never God's plan for anyone. In the very beginning, in the Garden of Eden, He said, "It is not good for man to be alone...." You can be surrounded by people, in the center of the crowd, and still feel alone. That's one reason Jesus came. The Bible says His name shall be called Immanuel, which means "God with us." Jesus spent his ministry touching, helping, and cleansing those who had been hurt and dirtied by life.

It is easy to feel like you're on your own and that nobody really cares about you. That's how it becomes easy to seek comfort in habits and lifestyles that are self-destructive. So what happens? You end up broke, hurting, embarrassed, and alone when you look at the mess that you've made of your life. Nobody plans to wreck their own life, but life is too intense to go through it without some sort of help. Many people, not getting the inside help that they need, settle for the distractions of social activity, material and career success, or simply vegging out in front of the TV. Others numb themselves with drugs and alcohol. Jesus said, "The thief comes not, but for to kill, steal, and destroy...."

Fortunately Jesus didn't stop there. He continued, " . . .but I have come that they may have life, that they may have it more abundantly." This is in John 10:10. Part of new life is receiving forgiveness for your sins. The Bible says that all of us have sinned (Romans 3:23). Sin has a payback: it brings death in any area it's operating in. It will kill your mental and emotional health, your relationships, and your spiritual health. Romans 6:23 says, "...the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." If you believe with your heart that Jesus is the Christ and confess with your mouth, you shall be saved. The Bible says that in Romans 10:9.

In 1 John 1:9 God says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says, "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come into him and will fellowship with him and he will fellowship with Me." Here is a prayer that you can pray to get things right with Jesus:

God, I know I am a sinner. But, I don't want to be. I need Your help. Please forgive me for my sins. I believe Jesus died for me, in my place. Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart and to be my Lord and my Saviour. Thank You for hearing this prayer. In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Bible says that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. So, I know that He heard your prayer. Once you prayed that prayer, God wiped out all of your sins and counts you as a new person with a clean slate. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature. Old things passed away, behold all things are become new."

If you prayed this prayer making Jesus your Lord please contact me so that I can rejoice with you!

Bless you,
