Program
Ministry
The function of
the Program Ministry is to ensure that each person's age and
social group needs are met. The Program Ministry keeps track of
the calendar of events, and ensures that the program of the church is
ministering to each subgroup of the church in a balanced and edifying
way. It is also responsible for publicizing the various programs and
events of the church so that our people will be able to invite their
friends and associates to come and take advantage of the many high
quality program items offered to those who link up with The Worship
Center.
The Program Ministry oversees both our social
and our spiritual program content. These include the Valentine's
Banquet, Easter plays/specials, the Annual All-Church Summer Picnic, The
Annual Baptism Cruise and Feast, the Christmas Program, and New Year's
Eve celebrations. These vital programs within the church need to
coordinate and work together with other committees. This area of ministry opens up many opportunities to
invite all of your friends/neighbors/coworkers in to enjoy what is
presented.
Many unchurched people will attend a special program
but not be comfortable attending a "Worship Service". The special
programs allow the visitor to a feel for The Worship Center and what we
are about, walk around and meet our friendly folks, join in our coffee
hour and feel the presence of the Lord. This enables the Holy Spirit to
use this time to deal with the person and soften their heart making them
more open to a direct invitation to attend a regular service. The
Program Ministry processes all suggestions for programs, special
speakers, special events, missions weekends and revivals. At their
monthly meeting they prayerfully discuss any program proposal and how
they may or may not fit it within The Worship Center. Redeeming
the time is utmost in the Program Ministry member's minds when
reviewing programs - no program should be presented just to "fill a
spot" or "use time". This is an area of ministry, not just
entertainment. A visitor may attend only once and if there is a special
program presented we want it to minister to his or her heart and soul.
Ministry Opportunity!
The
Program Ministry is always open for helpers, for qualified men
and women who have the heart to serve and a willingness to commit. This
is one of several active committees that ministers within the church. If
you feel the Lord is calling you to this area of ministry please contact
the church offices at

What is expected from a Program Ministry Member?
A
Program Ministry member will be responsible for attending the
meetings, taking on responsibilities and duties depending on what
program is being planned, keep a lookout for new ideas, working well
within a group as well as exercising one-on-one cooperation and having
the complete support of your spouse. The member also needs to be
committed to faithful attendance of The Worship Center services
and possessing a vibrant personal relationship with the Lord as
evidenced by fellowship, daily prayer and reading of the
Word.
