Special Projects
What is the
Special Projects Ministry?
This is a Small Group Ministry under the direction of
Dr. Davis. This ministry's focus is to serve the Lord through community involvement. The
Special Projects Ministry organizes opportunities to link up with other service groups and to improve the quality of life for those being served. It is also a way for newcomers in the area to meet the other "movers and shakers" in the community by providing an opportunity to work side by side with other focused high achieving individuals. The
Special Projects Committee works regularly with Habitat for Humanity, Christmas in April and United Way, Southern Maryland Leathernecks and other service organizations.
The most satisfying reason to be a part of the Special Projects Ministry is to make it easier to get involved in the community. It is a great way to establish a presence of salt and light in the community. We want your experience at The Worship Center be as complete as possible - and for you to be a part of extending God's love and compassion into the community. The best way to do that, is to DO something. We are doers of the Word not just hearers!
The
Special Projects Committee also finances church projects, such as keeping the church buses insured and maintained, and financing special projects as the need arises. This is a great ministry group to be a part of. Contact
Dr. Davis at church any Sunday or give them a call at the
office at 301-375-8655.
What
is expected of a Special Projects Committee Member?
A
Special Projects Committee member will be responsible for attending the
monthly planning meeting, taking on responsibilities and
duties within each event that is planned, keeping a lookout
for new ideas, working well within a group as well as
exercising one-on-one cooperation, and having the complete
support of your spouse. The member also needs to be committed
to faithful attendance at The Worship Center services and
possessing a vibrant personal relationship with the Lord as
evidenced by fellowship, daily prayer and reading the Word.
If
you feel you meet these qualifications and have a passion
to serve, please let us know. You are needed!
