Cross Training

Our kids actually look forward to getting together at The Worship Center! Our Youth Ministry, Cross Training, prepares pre-teens and teens to faithfully serve God through these difficult years and to live a life that works. In Cross Training they learn God's principles for living moral, strong lives that put them in a position of leadership in society.

Kids from all over Southern Maryland experience salvation, cleansing, fellowship and receive wisdom from the Word of God each time they get together.  One thing that excites and motivates our Cross Trainers is that they aren't just passively receiving teaching and training from adults. They are encouraged and equipped to learn the Word of God for themselves and to be able to present it clearly and to be able to teach others. Our kids learn to boldly teach the Word of God and to be examples their peers of how to live godly lives.

Many times, parents of Cross Trainers have a hard time believing the changes that take place in their kid's lives after just a few weeks of active involvement in Cross Training.

Unlike many "youth ministries" that seem to be trying to impress the unsaved world by being like them, we know that the most kids want something different than the world. We know we will never win the world by imitating it. The fact is, unsaved people coming in to a Christian gathering looking for answers, get disgusted when they find the Christians trying to look, act and sound as worldly as possible. Jesus has always called His disciples out of the world and into His light, freedom and forgiveness. We're not afraid to be different!

One of the Cross Trainers' favorite sayings is, "We don't fall, because we know how to stand." The Cross Trainers understand that there are two types of people in the world, "those going to Heaven and those who are going to Hell." This is what motivates the team to spend quality time learning and studying the Word of God. Coupled with a solid prayer life, the Cross Trainers are not ashamed to let others know that they have a personal relationship with Jesus. There is no better gift that we can pass on to others than the gift of Jesus. Our Cross Training Ministry is prepared to take the Gospel to the world in word and in deed.
