This
is a real ministry for those who have a "pastor's heart." The
Membership Ministry is charged with following up on visitors and
newcomers, making certain they feel welcome and accepted. It is also
responsible for making sure that no one "slips through the cracks."
When a person has missed two or more services, the Membership Ministry
is responsible to make contact with them and find out how we can
better help that person with the involvement of those already
attending The Worship Center on a regular basis, whether or not they
have officially joined the church, and also those who have just
visited and have not made any further commitment.
What
does the Membership Committee do?
The Membership Committee has a two-fold ministry: internal and
external. The internal part is to make certain everyone is
participating in the activities of the church, to see to it that no
one slips through the cracks whether regular attendees or visitors,
and to do any and all necessary follow up. The external part is to
identify and to target people who's needs and abilities interlace the
needs and opportunities offered at The Worship Center.
Members Needed!
The Membership Committee is always looking for helpers, for qualified
men and women who have the heart to serve and a willingness to commit.
It is very important to have both men and women actively doing the
follow up, with the men calling on men and women calling on the women.
The men can explain all the areas that men can get involved in the
church such as the Men's Fellowship, work days, etc. The women can
reach out to the other women and let them know about the monthly
Ladies Fellowship, helping in the Sunday School and Nursery ministry
and other evangelistic outreaches. If you feel the Lord is calling you
to this area of ministry please contact Dr. Davis at church or by
calling the church office at 301-375-8655 .

What is expected from a
Membership
Committee Member?
A Membership Committee member will be responsible for attending the
meetings, taking on the appropriate responsibilities and duties,
working within a group and having the complete support of your spouse.
The member also needs to be committed to faithful attendance at The
Worship Center services and possessing a vibrant personal relationship
with the Lord as evidenced by fellowship, daily prayer and reading of
the Word.
