We encourage all members of the body of Christ to operate in their giftings, both individually and collectively. We seek to help members to use those giftings to fulfill Christ’s Commission to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16: 15) and to reach the people entrusted to them, by God, to reach. Outreach and missions is by no means a mere over land and seas issue, the life of a missionary is one that we are to live out everyday. The goal of the Ministry of Outreach & Evangelism is to encourage members to take on that lifestyle by getting them plugged into regular local outreach opportunities.

Food Pantry (Tuesday and Thursday from 4 – 6 pm)

Each week, food stuffs are donated from local food companies to The Worship Center church. This food is distributed in local neighborhoods and is primarily given to the working poor. This food distribution has quickly become a way to not only feed people’s bodies, but their souls as well. It is means of evangelism, a way to become familiar with people & families week to week and an open door to become involved in their lives. People are getting saved, lives are changing, and our church family is growing.

English as a Second Language

Our community is a growing one, with people from all around the world. The Lord has brought the mission field TO us. One major need of internationals is to learn how to speak and read English. This need has opened a door to reach out.

Christmas in April

Christmas in AprilThe Worship Center has been volunteering with Christmas in April for over 15 years now. Christmas in April is dedicated to keeping elderly and disabled homeowners living in warmth, safety, independence, dignity and decency through home repair and rehabilitation services. To be a volunteer all you need is a willing heart and the desire to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Skilled and unskilled volunteers work together to help provide independence, dignity, safety and comfort to these homeowners.

Day of Caring

The Worship Center's Day of CaringUnited Way is a coalition of charitable organizations to pool efforts in fundraising and support. The focus is identifying and resolving pressing community issues, as well as making measurable changes in the communities through partnerships with schools, government agencies, businesses, organized labor, financial institutions, community development corporations, voluntary and neighborhood associations, the faith community, and others. The issues United Way offices focus on are determined locally because of the diversity of the communities served.

United Way’s Day of Caring is a day when members from the community volunteer to give back to organizations that help the community in all year long – be it working with disabled, the poor, women and children, health issues, etc… The Worship Center has been volunteering with United Way’s Day of Caring since 2006.

We have also been involved with Habitat for Humanity, Jerry’s Kids, The Catherine Foundation Pregnancy Care Center, and Lifestyles of Southern Maryland as well as other community projects.
