Jesus wants us to be blessed and fruitful in life, be able to enjoy being creative and satisfied but for many people, life has become a predictable, ho-hum existence with no real victories and no real thrill anymore and that’s not the will of God for you or for any human being. The Bible tells us that if we’re Christ’s, then we’re Abraham’s seed and heirs according to God’s promises. It says that Christ has redeemed us, me and you from the curse so that we don’t have to lead lives of quiet desperation. God’s blessings come to you by believing in your heart what He says, confessing it with your mouth and following up on it with action and that’s where the problem comes in for most of us. We don’t have any problem reading the Word, but our natural mind doesn’t want to doubt and to be in unbelief and this is due to the Word being spiritual and your flesh being carnal. “The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God…” Your flesh doesn’t receive them, but your spirit DOES. Your flesh is screaming, “NO!” and your spirit’s crying. “YES!”
When you start filling your heart with the Word of God, things begin to happen differently for you. As you start believing good things, you’ll start speaking good things. Believing and speaking is what comes before receiving good things. “I believed, therefore have I spoken.” For example, the Bible says that you’re blessed and you might believe it, but it’s hard to get your mouth to say it. It’s hard to release it from being limited to the heart by speaking it with your mouth. As long as your beliefs are just in your heart, they’re very limited. When you speak them, they become unlimited. Imagine yourself agreeing out loud with Deuteronomy 28. See, most people talk about the things they DON’T want and they say things like, “With my luck…” and then add some lousy ending. They talk about what they’re afraid of and what they don’t want to happen. Jesus tells us to pray for the things we desire, not the things we don’t want. What we need to pray is what God gives us faith for, according to the Word. Think about what God says about what God says about the same way that the rain comes down from Heaven, it waters the earth and makes it bring forth that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater…My Word shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it.” Isaiah 55:10-11.
God’s Word is like rain that produces results and when you bring the Word into your life, it brings you the God-kind of results and it enables you to be fruitful, creative and productive. 1 Peter 1:23 says that we’re born again by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. We’ve just seen what this Word of will do – it’ll bring forth fruit, provide seed for you to plant and bread for you to eat and it prospers. Since you’re born of that seed and it’s in you, you know what you can expect to happen in your life as it works through you. You have the seed of the Word of God in you. The seed of the Word of God inside you are programmed to prosper. It’ll prosper and that word means “to flourish, succeed; be fruitful.” You’re NOT a loser. You’re in the family of God Almighty and we need to see what God’s word says to us, act on it and start getting results. Many people don’t know what to do and they want to know how to handle this kind of problem and other problems. They think of themselves as failures instead of thinking of themselves the way God thinks of them and that’s why they aren’t getting answers that God has provided for them. We’ve got to stop just hearing the Word of God and know that to be in God’s will is to hear, practice and act on it.
God’s Word is programed to prosper in you and to produce fruit in you as you believe it, speak it and act on it. It’s a matter of making a decision, choosing to not be some kind of pantywaist spectator Christian. Christ has redeemed you and He purchased you so that you can walk in God’s favor and provision. He freed you so the blessing of Abraham can come on you. We’re going to be exploring where God tells how He’ll change the landscape of your life. Instead of thorns or things that keep you out, coming up in your life, God will bring things that you can use to build with. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says that Jesus became poor so that you might become rich. It doesn’t say that you’d become a millionaire, but well supplied and abundantly provided for and Jesus had blessings for you, guidance and provision. Some people don’t believe the good news and don’t believe it’s as good as Christians make it out to be but it is. These people are brighter than they realize. Us as Christians, we know that the devil wants to steal and destroy anything good that comes into our lives and to rob us of our faith but we must remember that God has a plan for all of us and He wants us to flourish, prosper and be abundant.
